Students at St Angela of the Cross Primary School donned their hats and gardening gloves last week for a National Tree Day planting event.
Supported by the Warragul Toyota team as part of its annual support for National Tree Day events, students worked together to bring some new life into the garden.
Older students partnered up with their younger peers, showing off their teamwork skills as they got to work planting 280 native trees and shrubs provided by Habitat Creations in Yarragon.
Sharen Coulter from Habitat Creations helped the students plant the trees and shrubs and gave a presentation on the importance of planting trees.
The students were provided with a goodie bag which included special hats and gloves.
Established in 1996, Planet Ark's National Tree Day has grown into Australia's largest community tree planting and nature care event. Each year, around 300,000 people volunteer their time to engage in environmental activities that educate Australians about the world around them.
