Performing Arts students from St Paul's Anglican Grammar School's Warragul and Traralgon campuses joined together at the West Gippsland Arts Centre recently for the annual Centrepiece concert.
The evening was an opportunity to celebrate and showcase their outstanding talent and included acts ranging from instrumental, drama and dance solos to small ensembles, musical theatre and even magic.
Students had a chance to perform in a professional setting on a grand stage as well as practise their solo and group performance skills.
Solo acts were selected through an audition process in which students performed in front of a panel of adjudicators. This process offered students the opportunity to gather real-world, industry experience as it emulated the types of experiences they will encounter if they pursue performing arts at a tertiary level or in a professional production.
The evening of live performances not only provided a wonderful show for families and friends but also allowed the students and their musical talents to be celebrated by the school and the wider community.
The performing arts program at St Paul's allows students to personalise their learning experience through co-curricular music and drama endeavours.
