Marist-Sion College student Sarah Fusinato was the highest achieving student for her school with an ATAR of 98.7.
Principal Peter Houlahan said Sarah's score included a perfect 50 for further mathematics and a 48 for physical education. Sarah plans to study science at Melbourne University.
Mr Houlahan said 28 per cent of Marist-Sion's year 12 students achieved an ATAR over 80 and 8.9 per cent were above 90.
He said the school was very pleased with the results. "These results include students who have been completing VCAL with a focus on vocational matters.
"We are very pleased with the efforts of all of them whether they completed their full VCE and are heading on to tertiary studies or VCAL students who have already gone on to apprenticeships and training."
