Warragul Croquet Club's annual golf croquet handicap doubles tournament was held on Saturday and Sunday.
Despite heavy rain leading up to the weekend, the tournament started on Saturday morning in fine conditions. Twenty eight players from various clubs around the state were competing. People came from Lakes Entrance, Sale, Leongatha, Wonthaggi, Belmont, Mornington, Bairnsdale and Drouin.
Saturday's play took place under fine conditions but Sunday the rain arrived.
Play continued despite two or three heavy showers.
Croquet players are a tough lot - people just donned their wet weather gear and continued on.
The competitors were in two different sections determined by their handicaps.
Section one winners were Kelvin Marriott and Bob Quayle from Drouin, runners-up were Wilma Freeman and Betty Clissold from Sale.
Section two winners were Joanne and Michael Butterfield from Leongatha, runners-up were Virginia Wheeler and Neil Warburton from Wonthaggi.
The day concluded with an enjoyable afternoon tea involving all the competitors and Warragul Croquet Club members.
