Hawks bundled out
1 min read

The season came to a close for Drouin's A and C grade sides in the first semi-finals held at Moe on Sunday.
A grade: Drouin 35 lost to Morwell 46
A tough start saw Morwell take an early lead, the Hawks down 4-12 at quarter-time.
The injection of the experienced Christie Edwards and Ava Gaul, combining with defenders Ella Henderson, Lucy McKellar and April Bethune, saw a complete swing in the game. As a result, Drouin had a one-goal lead at half-time.
Unfortunately, Morwell had all the answers in the second half and ran over the top of the Hawks on this occasion.
Awards: Ella Henderson, April Bethune and Lucy McKellar.
C grade: Drouin 28 lost to Leongatha 39
Drouin's season came to an end with a hard-fought loss to a sharp and fast Leongatha side.
From the first whistle, Leongatha's pace and slick ball movement tested the Hawks across the court.
Drouin's defenders worked tirelessly with Ali McArthur and Chloe Walsh forming a strong and dependable combination in the circle. Their efforts, alongside the relentless pressure from Alice McKellar and Jami Thomas helped to slow Leongatha's attacking momentum and keep the Hawks in the contest.
Whilst Drouin had their moments, they couldn't capitalise. Abbey Tyrell was strong in the goaling circle, combining well with Jodie Proctor and Emily Bethune.
Though the scoreboard didn't go their way, it has been an incredible season for the Hawks; one full of grit, growth and glimpses of a very bright future. With a great mix of experience and youth coming through, there's no doubt this team will be one to watch in 2026.
Awards: Jodie Proctor, Ali McArthur and Chloe Walsh.
