The top three have established a sizeable buffer after Ellinbank defeated Lang Lang in A grade on Saturday.
Neerim South's win over Poowong has the Cats well established on top of the ladder - two games clear of Nilma Darnum and Ellinbank. These two are a further two games and percentage ahead of fourth placed Lang Lang.
Pushing for a finals berth, Yarragon continue its vast improvement this season. Saturday's win over Catani has them just outside the top five.
It was the third versus fourth clash featuring the Eagles and Tigers which offered one of the closest margins of the round.
Played first up at 9am to enable the teams to attend "Ladies Day", it was Ellinbank who switched on first to establish an 18-12 quarter time lead. They further pushed this to 31-19 by half-time.
Some positional changes saw a more even second half, but the damage had been done. It was the Eagles winning by 11 goals, 53-42.
Despite some changes from the regular line-up, Neerim South proved too strong for a young Poowong.
However, the Pies certainly impressed with strong opening quarter, level with the reigning premiers at quarter time.
From there, Neerim South looked to make adjustments and pushed ahead, shooting 19 goals and holding Poowong to just three in the second quarter.
The final score was 56-28.
Yarragon led from start to final in an impressive 21-goal win over Catani.
The Blues kept the margin small, trailing by six, 10 and 11 goals at each break. However, a big final quarter from the Panthers, blew the scoreline out to 48-27.
Buln Buln took it up to Nilma Darnum in their clash, showcasing their potential. However, the Bombers ultimately stepped it up to win by 11.
The Lyrebirds matched up well against the Bombers, trailing by just three at quarter time, six at half-time and seven at the last change.
It was the experienced duo of Mel Cook and Stacey Lawry who led their team to the 53-42 win.
Fifth placed Trafalgar held off Longwarry in a high scoring clash, 60-49.
Trafalgar slowly built its lead throughout the contest, with Cassandra Wass shooting 42 goals, to hold a top five position.
