One top six side bounced back from defeat last week in a big way, while a bottom side has suddenly found some momentum in their season.
Here's what you might have missed this week.
Phillip Island vs Cora Lynn
Catching Phillip Island off a loss is never an easy prospect – just ask Cora Lynn.
The Cobras were no match for the Bulldogs on Saturday, going down by 45 points on the Bulldogs' home deck.
Phillip Island showed their intent past half time, kicking 10 goals to five and blowing out the margin in the process.
The 15.11 (101) to 8.8 (56) result sees the Bulldogs overtake the Cobras on the ladder and has them back on the winners list after their deflating 72-point defeat to Nar Nar Goon last week.
Cora Lynn, while competitive early and late, were left to rue a poor third quarter in which they kicked 1.2 to 6.1. There's your game.
Jay Ladson led the way for the home side, booting four goals in a best on ground performance.
Max Walton, Mark Griffin, Brayden Kleverkamp, Daniel Pearce and Bailey Hennessy rounded out their best.
Nicholas Pastras, Jett Edwards, Heath Briggs, Jordan Butera, Gus Da Costa and Billy Thomas were the better Cora Lynn players on a tough day.
Nar Nar Goon vs Kilcunda Bass
Nar Nar Goon have sent Kilcunda Bass spiralling out of the top six after a merciless 86-point shellacking.
The Goon were in no mood to mess around, keeping the Panthers to just four goals for the day, the final score 17.14 (116) to 4.6 (30).
The gap between the reigning premiers and the rest continues to be a stark one as the Goon piled on the pain early with seven of the first eight goals.
Against other teams you might consider your chances of a comeback. Against the Goon? Right now? Forget it.
It continues a worrying trend of form for Kilcunda Bass, who have now won just one of their last five games.
Having now fallen behind a resurgent Inverloch-Kongwak, this week's encounter with Korumburra Bena is suddenly a must win.
Nate Pipicelli, Matthew Gentile, Kyle O'Sullivan, Nicholas Hillard, Aidan Pipicelli and Ryan Bromley were all dominant for Nar Nar Goon.
Kilcunda Bass were best served by Lochlan Scott, Lleyton Cartmel, Nathan Foote, Owen Thomas, Daniel Mock and Sam Watson.
Dalyston vs Korumburra Bena
Korumburra Bena have made it two wins in as many weeks courtesy of a powerful third quarter display against Dalyston.
The Giants thumped through seven goals to two in the famed premiership quarter en route to a 16.8 (104) to 9.8 (62) victory.
It reverses their 39-point loss to the Magpies earlier this year in round three and sees them move to ninth on the ladder in the process.
Suddenly a club that has had few reasons to smile in recent years now looks reborn, the Giants' more competitive efforts earlier in the year now translating into genuine results.
Big man Evan Allaway was best on for the Giants, ably assisted by the likes of Tom Crocker (five goals), Josh Hopkins, Tyler Newton, Matthew Borschmann and Clayton Quaife.
Trying all day for Dalyston were Bradley Tilley, Mitch Hallahan (five goals), Fraser West, Kyle Hutchison, Kyle Kirk and Jaxon Foon.
