Drought breakers: Gulls into finals

Warragul's senior footballers have soared to new heights after qualifying for their first finals campaign since 2016.
Coming into Saturday's Western Derby at Drouin's newly resurfaced recreation reserve the equation was simple for the Gulls: win and you're in.
And win they did, Warragul defeating Drouin by 43 points to secure safe passage to fifth place on the ladder.
There were a few nervous moments among the Warragul supporters in attendance after Wonthaggi, the team threatening to steal their spot, began their match against Moe with a barnstorming 47-0 first quarter.
A Wonthaggi win would mean the Gulls absolutely had to bring home the four points, and a massive one would bring percentage into play.
It mattered little in the end, however, the Gulls riding the momentum of an eight-goal second term all the way to a comfortable win.
The Gulls will now prepare for a do-or-die elimination final against Morwell this Sunday at Wonthaggi.
Warragul and Morwell both defeated each other once during the season, the Gulls coming away 34-point winners in their last encounter.
