Sea Eagles dispose of Demons

The top six continue to jostle for position in West Gippsland as finals grow ever closer.

Inverloch-Kongwak vs Koo wee rup
A final quarter surge has seen Inverloch-Kongwak all but sew up a top two finish thanks to a 36-point win over fellow finals side Koo wee rup.
Having led by just 10 points at the final change the Sea Eagles hit the gas, slamming home five goals to one in the last and speeding away for another decisive victory.
The 13.11 (89) to 8.5 (53) win sees them two games and percentage clear in second with two games to go – albeit one of those being a bye.
The second half in general proved to be a chance for Inverloch-Kongwak to flex their muscles, particularly on the defensive end where they kept the Demons to just two goals past the main break. Joseph Nowell was the man doing the damage up the other end, slamming home five majors to now have five bags of four or more goals from his seven games this year.
Sea Eagles co-coach Ryan Sparkes was at his magnificent best, leading from the front to be named his side's best for the day.
Lewis Rankin, Jaxon Williams, Oscar Toussaint, Jayden Sullivan and Jobe Scapin were the other Inverloch-Kongwak players to impress.
The Demons are going back to the drawing board following another defeat to a top team – two goals in a half ain't gonna cut it.
Nathan Voss, Matthew Voss, Liam Pirotta, Taj Stanley, Joshua Bateman and William Battams were their better performers.
Phillip Island vs Cora Lynn
Phillip Island have secured a confidence booster heading into finals as they held off Cora Lynn by eight points in a tight and tense affair at home.
The Bulldogs were made to sing for their supper, kicking the only two goals of the final term to overcome an eight-point deficit at three quarter time to walk away winners 7.13 (55) to 7.5 (47).
Inaccurate goalkicking threatened to cruel their campaign for another four points but as they've so often done, Phillip Island found the gear they needed when challenged.
Cora Lynn spearhead Nathan Gardiner was again the Cobras' conduit to kicking goals, ending the day on four majors and taking him to 83 for the season. He'll find the going tough this week against Nar Nar Goon but a final round encounter with Dalyston could have him licking his lips at the prospect of another century.
As for Saturday it was another case of close but not close enough for the Cobras, who have struggled to take many scalps this season.
Garfield's loss all but guarantees them an elimination final and all signs are pointing to a rematch against the Island.
Bailey Hennessy, Brady Ross, Tom Lamb, Jay Ladson, Cooper Walton and Jack Opitz all lifted when required to get the Bulldogs across the line.
Mark Banham, Gardiner, Koby Grass, Nicholas Pastras and Rocco Filpi were the Cobras keeping up the fight.
Tooradin-Dalmore vs Dalyston
Tooradin-Dalmore enjoyed a comfortable day at the office, thrashing Dalyston by 116 points.
The Seagulls were in control from go to whoa, booting 11 goals to two in the first en route to victory 20.23 (143) to 3.9 (27).
Jack Flannery and Nick Lang led the scoring with four goals apiece and were named in the best alongside Chevy Andersen, Logan Downe, Corey D'Alton and Lachlan Young.
The end of the season can't come quick enough for Dalyston, who still have two top six teams to face before the year's out.
