A photograph of Grace Berglund accepting a cheque from Warragul Jaycees in 1974.
Mrs Berglund was accepting the $8000 cheque on behalf of the Gippsland Spastic Centre building appeal.
The community raised funds to build the centre in George St, now known as the Grace Berglund Centre, on land made available by the Warragul Shire Council.
The photograph also captures (from left) Warragul Jaycees 1974 president Kevin Dale, Ken Dwyer of the Spastic Children's Society of Victoria and Warragul Jaycees 1975 president-elect Mike Daniels at Wolf's Restaurant.
The Gazette article tells how the building appeal gained a huge boost with this donation to the society.
To the funds into perspective, a price of an average Melbourne house was $19,800 in the mid 1970s.

The Spastic Children's Society of Victoria, renamed as Scope, has provided about 50 years ago of service to people with disabilities.
The kindergarten was opened at the centre in 1991.
