Op shop donation helps CFA upgrade

A $1000 donation from the Drouin Anglican Church Op Shop has helped Drouin West CFA complete an upgrade to its breathing apparatus room.
The op shop's contribution supported works aimed at improving firefighter safety and reducing the risk of contamination from smoke and dirty protective clothing.
The upgraded room includes improved storage and work areas as well as a washing machine, allowing firefighters to clean contaminated clothing at the station rather than transporting it in private vehicles or washing it at home.
Drouin West CFA recently invited representatives from the op shop to the station for a tour and presentation to mark the completion of the project and officially open the upgraded room.
Drouin Anglican Church Op Shop senior manager Chloe Burke said the organisation was pleased to support the local brigade through the donation.
The breathing apparatus room upgrade was supported through a combination of brigade fundraising, community donations and assistance from local businesses.
