Nominations open for health awards

Nominations are open for the 2026 Gippsland Primary Health Awards, recognising excellence, innovation, collaboration and impact across Gippsland's primary health sector.

Presented by Gippsland Primary Health Network (Gippsland PHN), the awards celebrate people, teams and organisations whose work is improving the health and wellbeing of Gippsland communities.

Four award categories are included: strengthening care; connecting the system; impact for communities; and, shaping the Future of Care Gippsland PHN chief executive officer Amanda Proposch said the awards provided an opportunity to recognise work happening across the region to strengthen primary healthcare.

"Across Gippsland, people and organisations are finding better ways to deliver care, work together and respond to the needs of their communities. The primary health awards give us an opportunity to recognise that work and celebrate the difference it is making," she said.

Nominations can recognise work improving quality or access to care, strengthening collaboration across the health system, responding to community needs or developing new and innovative approaches to primary health care.

"We encourage people to consider the work happening across their organisations and networks and submit nominations across this year's four award categories," she said.

Nominations will be considered against a consistent evaluation framework covering the work and its suitability for the selected category, the local need it responds to, objectives and outcomes, consumer, community and partnership involvement, and capability, sustainability and continuous improvement.
Nominations close on September 30.
