A fresh face will soon represent Bunyip Ward in the Cardinia Shire Council chamber.
With current deputy mayor Graeme Moore not returning after serving 14 years on council, two candidates are in the running.
Travis Parker of Nar Nar Goon and Alanna Pomeroy of Tynong are the two nominating for Bunyip Ward, an area taking in the townships of Bunyip, Garfield, Tynong, Nar Nar Goon and Tonimbuk.
Cardinia Shire elections have attracted 23 candidates, with nine councillors to be elected across nine wards.
All but one will go to the polls, with current mayor Jack Kowarzik elected unopposed in Pakenham Hills Ward.
Five will stand in Henty Ward, four in Toomuc Ward, three in Ranges Ward, and two in the remaining wards - Beacon Hills, Central, Officer and Westernport.
