Residents object to treatment plant

by Emma Ballingall
Approval is being sought for a wastewater treatment plant and associated buildings at a Longwarry factory.
An amended planning permit was recently lodged with Baw Baw Shire for the works at Hammond Rd.
However, residents along the road are raising objections, citing road width and safety, light and noise pollution and lack of consultation. They argue an already established gravel path should be utilised for access to the proposed wastewater treatment plant.
The application for works was lodged by Nobelius Land Surveyors for the factory at 30 Witton St, Longwarry.

An amendment removed previous references to native vegetation removal.
