Warragul Swimming Club squad members were excited for training to return to the Warragul outdoor pool on Saturday when the pool opened for the summer season.
A mild sunny morning was the perfect backdrop for the first outdoor training session for more than 40 squad members.
"It felt so refreshing and spacious after being in the indoor pool over winter. The sunrise was amazing," Meg McInerney said.
Head coach Paul Myers said the outdoor pool was the perfect place for people to get fit and water-safe ahead of the warmer months.
"If you're here in the morning you can swim and watch the sun rise. It's a great way to get your exercise in and you feel good for the rest of the day. There is plenty of space for everyone."
Squad members finished their session with a poolside bacon and egg roll.
The Warragul outdoor pool was the first of the Baw Baw Shire outdoor pools to open. It will remain open everyday, regardless of weather, until April 30.
Outdoor pools at Drouin, Trafalgar, Neerim South and Trafalgar, as well as the indoor pool at Rawson, will open on December 1.
Warragul Swimming Club squad members Ava Upston, Meg McInerney and Will Blackwood were among the squad members welcoming the re-opening of the outdoor pool on Saturday for the summer season.
