More than 500 poppies have be placed on the graves of service men and women at the Warragul cemeteries as a sign of honour and remembrance on Anzac Day.
Organised by staff and volunteers from the Warragul Cemetery Trust, poppies donated by the Warragul RSL were placed on graves of service men and women at the Victoria St Cemetery and the Gullwarra Heights Memorial Park.
The poppies will remain in place until the second week of May, weather depending.
The Warragul Cemetery Trust plan to make it an annual tradition, and encouraged community involvement.
There are a number of people buried across the Warragul cemeteries who are not listed with the cemetery as service people.
The Warragul Cemetery Trust encouraged people to make contact with any information to ensure more veterans were honoured in future years.
Information and inquires can be sent to admin@warragulcemeteries.org.au or by calling 0422 489378.
