Former local police officer Brendan Clarke was endorsed as the Family First candidate for the Narracan supplementary election.
Mr Clarke previously stood as the party's candidate for the Morwell electorate during the November state election. He received 1.73 per cent of the primary vote.
Family First did not respond to questions from The Gazette. The following information was taken from the party's website.
Mr Clarke worked for Victoria Police in its crime department and on general duties for 34 years and is currently completing a certificate III in civil construction.
Campaign director Lee Jones said Family First was encouraged by its strong result in November and members and supporters were determined to keep holding the major parties to account. "With Labor and Liberal pushing the same woke policies, the question for voters is who will protect your family from the threat of radical political correctness?"
