Tetoora Road residents held their annual community day recently when nature turned on her nicest weather for a day of planting and fun activities.
The morning began with the Mt Worth and District Landcare Group supporting establishment of 40 plants around the Tetoora Road Community Centre grounds.
The enthusiastic planters ensured all seedlings were staked and guarded to protect them from wild winds, hungry rabbits and fossicking wombats.
Lunch was provided by the committee and other local foodies, which was well deserved after the hard work of the morning.
Afternoon activities included a basketball skills session led by local teacher Felicity Waddell and her fiance Jon; and, an artistic session building with polymer, led by local artist Leah. Some budding athletes and skilful artists demonstrating their abilities.
Thirty people attended the day with a mix of long-time locals and more recent residents working and learning together.
"These community days are important tor the local community to connect, as we don't get an opportunity to cross paths otherwise", Tetoora Road chair Ann Bullen said.
"It would be great to see everybody at our next event Hall Stories - hosted by Damian Callinan - on October 4 at 7pm at the hall. It should be an entertaining night". Hosted by the West Gippsland Arts Centre – tickets available through them $25 a seat.
