Cardinia Shire residents should be planning now to clean up green waste ahead of the summer fire risk period.
Free waste drop-offs will be accepted at recovery centres in Pakenham and Lysterfield during September and October.
People can take waste including garden prunings, tree branches, trunks up to 30 centimetres wide and one metre long, weeds, grass clippings, leaves and flowers.
Photo identification as proof of residency in Cardinia will be required. The free service is not available for commercial operators.
The drop-off periods will be from September 1 to 4 at the Future recycling transfer station at Exchange Drive, Pakenham, and at the Cleanaway resource recovery centre at Lysterfield from October 13 to 16.
