A house was destroyed in a fire at Neerim East on Saturday morning.
Police said a neighbour first noticed the fire in Veysey Rd at about 7am.
There was nobody inside the house at the time, with the occupant having left for work at about 5.20am.
Despite six local brigades attending, the house and an attached carport were completely destroyed.
Police said investigations determined the fire originated in the vicinity of an enclosed wood heater.
It was not deemed suspicious.
