New speed humps

New speed humps around Warragul are slowing drivers down.

Four new flat top speed humps have been built on each approach to the Normanby and Albert St roundabout, a location chosen to address the high number of incidents at the intersection.

There also are three flat top speed humps placed between Albert St and Sutton St in Warragul, as well as works to the O'Dowds Rd intersection, which also will include the introduction of a 50km/h speed limit.

"With local road safety being the main concern and purpose of speed humps, council also took into consideration impacts to driveways, proximity to existing street lights for visibility, and current flood paths," explained Baw Baw Shire infrastructure and environment services director James Robinson.
The speed humps form part of the Safer Local Roads and Streets Program and are fully funded to a total value of $530,000 via the Transport Accident Commission (TAC).
