Hansford withdraws

One Nation candidate for the upper house Eastern Victoria Region Greg Hansford has withdrawn from the upcoming state election for health reasons.

Mr Hansford's decision followed the recent diagnosis of a serious medical issue.
One Nation Victoria announced his withdrawal via its Eastern Regional Committee last Wednesday.

Mr Hansford previously stood at a state election (for the Freedom Party), and last year as a federal candidate for the seat of Gippsland, "Greg has always fought for Gippsland and the Latrobe Valley, and his work for the betterment of the region is unrivalled", the party said in a public statement emphasising the primary priority was Mr Hansford's wellbeing, while he requested ON remained focused on the imminent election.

A new candidate for the party's Eastern Victoria seat in the Legislative Council is expected to be announced this week.
