Shower during house burglary

A 52-year-old Drouin man was arrested on Wednesday in relation to incidents in Old Drouin Rd that morning.
Around 1am, the man allegedly accessed an orchard after driving a single cab Hilux into farm fencing, damaging several posts and a gate. Police said the offender allegedly set fire to the vehicle in the paddock.
The man allegedly entered an open shed before he removed a tractor. Police allege he abandoned the tractor to steal a Honda 'side-by-side' ATV valued at $15,000.
It is alleged the man then entered a neighbouring house while the occupants were asleep. Police believe the man searched multiple rooms before entering the bathroom to have a shower.
Police said the 80-year-old male occupant woke and confronted the intruder. The man fled the scene at 1:40am in the victim's white dual-cab Toyota Hilux valued at $30,000.
The ATV was recovered at the second property, and the ute was later recovered at a Drouin property where the man was arrested by Baw Baw detectives at 4am.
The man was charged and bailed to appear at Latrobe Valley Magistrates' Court.
