Garfield playground refreshed

Garfield families have a newly upgraded place to play following completion of works at Greenland Crt Reserve.
The playground was renewed as part of Cardinia Shire Council's playground renewal program and officially opened last Tuesday.
New features include nature play elements, slides, climbing activities, a flying fox, swings, seesaw and monkey bars.
The broader reserve also has been upgraded with new shelter, picnic seating, pathways, landscaping and bike parking.
Cardinia Shire mayor Brett Owen said community feedback helped shape the project.
"The wonderful upgrades we are celebrating today have been shaped by community input and designed to reflect what local families told us they value most," Cr Owen said.
Bunyip Ward councillor Alanna Pomeroy said the improvements would encourage families to spend more time outdoors and use the reserve as a place to meet and socialise.
The project was jointly funded by Cardinia Shire Council and the State Government, which contributed $50,000 through the Tiny Towns Fund.
Council also is finalising consultation on a proposed renaming of Greenland Crt Reserve.
