Favourite characters celebrated

It's not every day you can say you went to school with Harry Potter, Minions or Oompa Loompas, but the annual dress-up day to celebrate Book Week let St Paul's Anglican Grammar School Junior School students do just that.
With this year's Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book Week theme, Symphony of Stories, students and staff embraced the opportunity to celebrate the joy of reading and the stories, authors and illustrators that inspire young readers.
Students and teachers paraded their costumes and shared their favourite stories with each other, bringing together not only the St Paul's community but their families too. The morning was spent cheering each other on, talking about books and seeing different interpretations of everyone's favourite characters come to life.
The festivities extended throughout the week with activities and special visits from Australian authors who visited to speak with students. Students were inspired by all things literary and storytelling, with their thinking extending beyond what they thought was possible.
