Entries are now open for the 47th Tyers Art Festival, returning from November 6 to 8.
One of Gippsland's longest running and most loved community arts events, the festival continues to celebrate creativity across the region and beyond.
In 2026, the festival is launching the Tyers Landscape Photography Competition, a new section dedicated to showcasing Gippsland's inland landscapes.
Amateur and professional photographers are invited to capture the region's natural beauty, from sweeping lowlands to striking alpine environments.
The festival will again feature a range of awards across traditional art mediums, including oil, acrylic, watercolour, pastel, mixed medium, craft and drawing, alongside the Jean Galbraith Prize, GLaWAC Art Award, Hangers Choice Award, Popular Choice Award and Young Artist Awards.
Prospective entrants can submit their artworks and photographs via the online entry form at tyersartfestival.com.au.
Festival director Peter Harrison said the introduction of the photography competition marked an exciting evolution.
"Gippsland's landscapes are extraordinary, and this new competition gives photographers a dedicated platform to celebrate them. We look forward to seeing the creativity and passion our artists and photographers bring to the 2026 festival."
"The Tyers Art Festival remains committed to providing artists of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to exhibit, sell and be recognised for their work.
"Last year's Festival saw strong attendance and outstanding sales, and we anticipate another exceptional year in 2026," he said.
Barry Masterman Smith is this year's feature artist. Barry's work will be showcased throughout the weekend, and visitors will have the opportunity to meet him and learn more about his artistic practice.
The festival's gala evening is an opportunity to mingle with fellow art lovers and immerse yourself in a night of inspiration, flavour and connection. Tickets can be purchased at https://tyersartfestival.com.au/gala-evening
Entries close at 4pm on October 17. Artists and photographers can enter via the online form at tyersartfestival.com.au.
