Drouin Secondary College was excited to receive news that Drouin Rotary Club had secured a District Scholarships Grant on its behalf.
The scholarships are intended for financially disadvantaged students to assist and encourage them to more fully participate in the normal school curriculum.
The club's director of youth programs Russell Ford said the club was very aware of the financial demands placed on many families.
"We see this scholarship as going some way to help the school help as many students as possible to achieve their learning potential," he said.
Drouin Rotary Club has been a long-time supporter of the Drouin Secondary College, providing scholarships, donations of equipment and volunteering their time to support students to engage in their learning and reach their full potential as contributing members of society.
Principal Elizabeth Godwin said Rotary was a valued member of the school community and the club's support was an undeniable asset to students, whether it was through mentoring students, helping at Breakfast Club or with financial support.
