Students shine on stage

St Paul's Anglican Grammar School's 2025 production of "You're History!" (A Maverick Musical) lit up the stage at the West Gippsland Arts Centre recently, delighting audiences with three nights of high-energy entertainment.
Packed with singing, dancing, humour and plenty of mayhem, the show transported audiences through a time-travel adventure where a classroom became a time machine.
A rowdy detention crew found themselves colliding with Vikings, pirates, gladiators, Shakespearean characters and figures from ancient Greece in a fast-paced story filled with wit and intrigue.
The production was brought to life under the direction of St Paul's drama teacher and show director Kylie Sinclair, supported by her year 11 theatre studies class, who contributed to set building, costume design, staging and lighting.
Featuring a cast drawn from across the secondary school, the show highlighted the creativity, talent and teamwork of both students and staff.
As a co-curricular performing arts opportunity, "You're History!" gave students the chance to personalise and extend their learning beyond the classroom, from understanding the many facets of stagecraft to experiencing the thrill of performing on a professional stage.
Audiences applauded the blend of schoolyard antics and historical chaos, with each performance showcasing the enthusiasm and dedication of the St Paul's community, leaving theatre-goers impressed and entertained.
