The Drouin Anglican Church Opportunity Shop has recently sown the seeds of generosity – literally.
The latest donation is helping launch a new lunchtime gardening club at Drouin Primary School, where students can dig in, get their hands dirty, and learn the magic of growing their own food.
Led by one of the school's passionate teachers, the club invites students to opt in and become young green thumbs.
With the donated funds, the school will purchase soil and seedlings to kickstart the project.
Students will plant in raised garden beds, weed, water and nurture their plants – watching tiny sprouts transform into thriving vegetables. They will also help beautify the school grounds with general gardening tasks, learning practical skills and gaining a deeper appreciation for nature.
Run by volunteers, the Drouin Anglican Church Opportunity Shop is a proud outreach arm of the church, dedicated to supporting local non-profit organisations that make a difference.
Donation applications are welcomed at the end of each financial quarter.
