It was anything but an ordinary school day when St Paul's Anglican Grammar School's Warragul and Drouin campus students stepped into the shoes (and sometimes wings, tails or capes) of their favourite storybook characters for Book Week.
This year's Book Week theme was "Book an Adventure", and this was certainly evident in the playground, where superheroes zoomed, Mario brothers raced, and wizards and Star Wars characters waved their wands and lightsabers as they turned it into a living storybook.
Students had fun guessing who was hiding beneath each costume, while carrying along their much-loved books to share.
Teachers joined the fun too, swapping their everyday outfits for adventurous costumes. Drouin campus students even had a special visit from Shannyn from the Drouin library, who read "Book Week Bear" and spoke to them about the meaning behind Book Week.
The big moment came with the Book Week parade, where families were treated to a colourful procession of characters.
The day was a celebration of literacy, filled with laughter, imagination and the magic of storytelling.
