Chairo students put vehicles to the test
1 min read

The paved areas at Lardner Park were ideal for a class of years seven and eight students from Chairo Christian School to practice for this year's Energy Breakthrough competition at Maryborough.
Students in the BATS (Business and Technology Students) program have been participating in the 24-hour race for more than 20y years in their energy efficient vehicles, which were built at school.
A session at Lardner Park in early November enabled the students to become familiar with the cars and to work on their cornering, night-riding and race strategies.
For some students, it was their first time behind the wheel, but they soon gained confidence after a few laps and some coaching from more experienced students.
The EEVs, not yet fitted with their corflute skins, handled well and the students thoroughly enjoyed the experience as they prepared for the big event later in November.
