Badminton finals
Mid Gippsland Badminton Association held grand finals last week.
The results are as follows:
Section 1: Labertouche 5/260 defeated Warragul Blue 1/191
Section 2: Warragul Blue 4/292 defeated Warragul Red 2/254
Section 3: Warragul White 5/283 defeated Ellinbank Blue 1/238
Section 4: Ellinbank 4/274 defeated Warragul 2/237
Match of the Week - Section 4
Warragul vs Ellinbank
It was an incredibly close contest in section four, with just five aces separating the two teams heading into the final two games - but Ellinbank had other ideas.
They stormed home in the closing stages to finish with a 37-ace victory, showing plenty of composure when it mattered most.
Game of the Week - Section 2
Warragul Blue vs Warragul Red
The game of the week produced a fantastic three-set battle, with Bailey Huntingford and Michael Abramich eventually getting the better of Aaron Remyn and Sam Sanam.
The scores tell the story: 18–21, 21–19, 21–19.
After dropping the first game, Bailey and Michael fought back brilliantly to take the next two games and secure a hard-fought victory.

Section 4 - Ellinbank back-to-back
Section four had the tightest ladder of all the grades, and the grand final proved just how evenly matched the competition was.
Ellinbank entered the finals from third position, but produced an outstanding finals campaign to reach the grand final and once again face Warragul.
The final was a replay of last year's battle, and once again Ellinbank came out on top, successfully defending their title and going back-to-back.
The association offered congratulations to Tom, David, Lara and Mia Hansford - an amazing achievement, especially with all four members of the winning team coming from the one family.
Section 3 - Warragul White take the flag
Warragul White finished the regular season on top of the section three ladder and carried that excellent form into the finals.
They finished the season in style with a 45-point grand final victory over Ellinbank Blue.
Ellinbank Blue deserve plenty of credit too, making a tremendous run through the finals to reach the grand final from third position.
In the end, however, Warragul White proved too strong.
The team was Uman Umbu, Emma Padfield, Glen Bellingham and Jamie Padfield.
Section 2 - Warragul Blue complete an unbeaten Season
Section two produced an all-Warragul grand final, with Warragul Blue taking on Warragul Red.
Blue capped off a fantastic season by completing an unbeaten campaign, defeating Warragul Red by 38 points.
Red pushed their opponents hard throughout the match, taking three games to three sets, but they couldn't quite find the extra gear needed to stop Warragul Blue.
The team was Chris Huntingford, Bailey Huntingford, Michael Abramich and Kris Hughes.
Section 1 — Labertouche continue their dominance
At the pinnacle of the association, the section one grand final saw Labertouche continue their impressive form from throughout the season.
They produced a dominant performance, dropping just one game on their way to taking the premiership.
The section one champions were Andrew Ottrey, Stuart Ottrey, Harry Stephens, Alicia Cook and Chris O'Rourke.
