Owner Sharyn Swanepoel said she was delighted by the feedback she'd received from the community from day one.
"Customers are surprised by what they find inside," Sharyn said. "I wanted this to be a space where people walked in and said "wow", and that is exactly what has happened."
As well as a wide range of non-fiction and fiction in all genres, Pages HQ has a range of gift lines including tea products and treats. "We've incorporated some locally made products and will continue to expand in that area. There's also a section devoted to local authors."
Pages HQ has a strong focus on Australian nature and the outdoors, including resident stick insects. "The adults are loving these as much as the kids are."
After opening on September 1, the bookshop had a big opening celebration on September 5, marking the end of the first week of trading.
Two lucky customers won $100 gift vouchers, with over $500 of other prizes given away during the day.
Next Sharyn is planning a series of events, including author talks, book clubs and themed days.
There's a dedicated workshop space where she will hold regular writing and craft workshops.
The first is a free event featuring authors Nicola Marsh and Cynthia Timoti who are visiting on Love Your Bookshop Day, October 10.
"Every day I've had someone say thank you for bringing something like this to Drouin."
Pages HQ is located at 1b Commercial Place, Drouin. Open Monday to Friday, 10am–6pm, and Saturday, 9am–1pm.
