Warragul-Drouin is the fastest growing town in Australia, an analysis of the latest population estimates by the Australian Bureau of Statistics has confirmed.
And it heads by a long way the list of the top 40 towns with populations of more than 10,000.
Renowned demographer Bernard Salt, executive director of The Demographic Group, said the analysis by a data scientist of ABS figures for the past 10 years - 2013 to-2023 - revealed Warragul-Drouin's population had increased by 41 per cent to 45,597, a scale not matched anywhere else in Australia.
The next highest growth rate over the decade was 30 per cent, at Airlie Beach-Cannonvale on Queensland's Whitsunday coast.
