The Ellinbank and District record books had to make room for another name on Sunday after Longwarry's Jason 'Jay' Wells booted a magnificent 18 goals against Bunyip on Sunday.
Just two weeks after Neerim's Mason McGarrity scored the same number against Yarragon, the league leading goalkicker was in fine form during the Crows' 29.21 (195) to 6.5 (41) win in their Indigenous round clash.
To the surprise of nobody, Wells was awarded the Marngrook medal for his best on ground effort.
Wells' day out takes his overall tally for the year to 67 goals from just eight games, well on track to top his 91 goals from 19 games last year.
He is now also 15 goals ahead of McGarrity in the race for the league goalkicking award.
Wells is no stranger to kicking a bag, having racked up his 1000th senior goal last season in a career that has spanned more than 15 years.
Given the Ellinbank and District Football Netball League has never seen anyone kick 20 in a game it raises the question - could Wells or McGarrity be the first to break through?
It wasn't that long ago that the two were facing off against each other in West Gippsland, where Wells last played for Koo wee rup and McGarrity for Warragul Industrials.
