Wonthaggi's Kathy Ross steels herself for her shot on Saturday.
On Saturday, under very wintry conditions, the Warragul Croquet Club welcomed eight players (four pairs) from the Wonthaggi Croquet Club.
This annual challenge, called The Twin Ws Shield, is in its sixth year.
Wet weather gear was donned and the teams hit the courts at 9.30am, playing in the rain, until completion of play about 2.30pm.
A sausage sizzle lunch was enjoyed by both teams, and some spectators, in between games. At completion of play, once everyone had dried off, a delicious afternoon tea was served. Lots of close play and laughter was the order of the day.
Wonthaggi was victorious this year but Warragul is determined to reverse the result next year when the event is held in Wonthaggi.
