Warragul, Drouin get the week off, Traralgon and Morwell to do battle
1 min read

Latrobe Valley rivals Traralgon and Morwell will be out to square the ledger when they face off in a standalone Gippsland League match to close out rivalry round on Saturday.

The match will end a truncated start to the season that has seen two rounds completed over the course of one month.

The victor will be knocking on the door of the five and in a season were the bottom reaches of the top five could be hotly contested, the match is a significant one for both sides.

Traralgon will enter as slight favourite for the match against the Tigers on recent season form, but nothing is off the table when local rivals meet.

Wonthaggi, Moe and Sale have made undefeated starts to head the ladder early. Leongatha and Bairnsdale each have one win to sit in the five on percentage.

Drouin’s opening win on Sunday has them sitting sixth.

Warragul is in seventh and while it has lost its opening games, it has shown positive signs in patches.

Drouin and Warragul will have the week off before both travel to face challenging opponents on May 1. The Hawks will head over the hills to take on Leongatha, while Warragul take the straight run down the Princes Highway to take on Sale.
