Victory for Trafalgar

A brace from Logan Winter has seen Trafalgar Victory's senior men's side storm their way to grand final glory on Sunday as they defeated Leongatha Knights.
Having entered the decider as the higher ranked team Trafalgar lived up to their seeding, powering away from their opposition to win 3-0.
A bumper crowd were in attendance at the Wonthaggi Recreation Reserve, with Trafalgar enjoying a strong contingent of travelling supporters who made sure their presence was felt - and heard.
Victory were defensively switched on throughout the day, led by a sterling performance in goals from Ross Johnson.
That application was exemplified by an incredible goal-line clearance from Monty Coots which kept Trafalgar with a clean sheet as the game remained on the line.
The match was generally played on good terms between the teams as both sides carried themselves well.
After neither team could break the deadlock for much of the first half, Winter was able to strike before half time courtesy of a free kick.
Trafalgar entered the break up 1-0 and full of confidence, which was only increased not long after play resumed when Winter doubled up, sending the Victory fans into raptures.
Now boasting a 2-0 lead Trafalgar did what they had to, keeping the Knights at bay until a late sealer from Jacob Vitale ensured the red and white would be heading home with a new trophy for the cabinet.
Winter was later awarded man of the match honours as the celebrations begun for a well-deserved win.
Drouin Dragons enjoyed an excellent day on the pitch themselves, taking out two trophies from four grand finals.
The Dragons' under 17 mixed team were in rare form in their grand final, thumping Leongatha Knights 6-1 to be named champions.
The Dragons were on song from minute one, putting two goals on the board within 10 minutes - one from an own goal - as they carried on with the job to claim a definitive win.
William Stevenage led the way in the scoring as he kicked two goals to be named man of the match.
The Dragons also brought home the under 12b mixed title, beating Phillip Island Penguins in the grand final 4-2.
Hayden Diaz scored two of his side's four goals while teammate Joshua Fairess was declared man of the match.
Drouin's under 15 girls and under 12a mixed teams weren't so lucky, going down to Phillip Island Breakers in both matches.
