The Garfield Bowling Club recently ended their season with their annual Presidents' Day tournament.
The popular event, held on Sunday April 13, drew 64 players, playing in 16 teams of four, to the club's beautifully manicured green under a perfect azure in lovely weather.
Teams came from as far away as Keysborough, Lang Lang, Yarra Junction and Rosedale to be involved in what is a grand event for the club.
The teams battled out the three games, interspersed with a lovely lunch.
Tournament director Gordon Moxey said "these events take a lot of preparation by many people to make happen" while thanking the event's sponsor "as well as the many club people who put in their time to ensure a perfect day."
The winners of the day were 'The Rascals' team from Keysborough consisting of Rick Bendzius, Peter Bendzius, Richard Cruden and Russell Matthews.
Runners-up were the local Garfield team 'Cunning as…' made up of Lexi Taylor, Brian Fox, Rick Sillet and Trevor Peters.
All in all the day was a great ending to another good season for the club.
