Top six on offer for Dusties
5 min read

Round six of the West Gippsland Football Netball Competition sees Warragul Industrials attempting to break into the top six.
Meanwhile, Garfield are out to make it two wins on the trot as they head south.
Warragul Industrials vs Koo wee rup
Warragul Industrials will be looking to break into the top six this week should they defeat Koo wee rup.
The Dusties were swept aside by Inverloch-Kongwak last round and will be out for redemption when they host the Demons.
In their favour is the return of forward half conduit Mason McGarrity, who had kicked 16 goals in three weeks before missing the thumping defeat to the Sea Eagles.
His team struggled without him, only managing three majors for the match.
The Dusties will also be buoyed by the form of their opponents, who are having an early-season slump.
Following a dominant win over Dalyston in round one, the Demons haven't tasted victory since.
Their 82-point loss to Phillip Island was just the latest in a concerning slide, leaving them languishing in 10th.
They'll be hopeful of causing an upset, but for Warragul Industrials these are the games they simply should be winning if they want to back up last year's return to finals footy.
They've already played the best three sides in it, meaning these next few weeks are a chance to bank some wins and build some form going into the second half of the season.
Kilcunda Bass vs Garfield
Garfield heads to Kilcunda Bass as they search for their second win in as many weeks.
It took a final quarter surge, led by Jon Sauze, from Stars to claim the points last week against Korumburra Bena. But, at the end of the day, they were happy to have already doubled their win tally from last season.
They have a chance to go again this week, their match-up with the Panthers presenting another opportunity.
Kilcunda Bass may have won their past two, but they were both struggles against Koo wee rup and Bunyip respectively.
Those two sides have had their own share of struggles, meaning although the Panthers have been winning they've hardly inspired.
They'll also be looking at this game as an extremely winnable one too, particularly with home ground advantage.
Not helping the Stars' case is the losses of Ethan and Lachlan Sauze, both of whom featured in their best last week.
Expect both sides to throw everything into this one, with the potential for it to go down to the wire.
Bunyip vs Phillip Island
It's the battle of the Bulldogs this week as Bunyip hosts premiership contender Phillip Island.
Bunyip showed plenty of promise in their narrow defeat to Kilcunda Bass last week as they look to sow the seeds for the future.
It's been a tough year for the club but if they can keep showing the competitive spirit they did last week they may surprise a few teams.
They'll certainly need that fight if they are to even make a dent against their upcoming opponents.
Phillip Island are sitting fourth on the ladder at the moment but clearly have their eyes set on another flag tilt.
Their domination of reigning premiers Tooradin-Dalmore a few weeks ago proved that, and they're a team that rarely lets go of a chance to boost their percentage against a lower team.
Bunyip will need to be at their very best to avoid a sizeable loss here.
Nar Nar Goon vs Cora Lynn
It's fifth vs sixth when Nar Nar Goon welcomes Cora Lynn for a match with real ramifications for the top six.
Cora Lynn were left a little shell-shocked after their defeat to Dalyston last round.
The Cobras, who have enjoyed a solid start to their season thus far, were taken by surprise by the Magpies, who seemingly are no longer the pushover they've been in years gone by.
Their inaccuracy came back to bite them in that match as they went down despite ending the day with four more scoring shots.
Nar Nar Goon are very difficult team to get a read on at the moment.
They've played arguably the three best sides in the league already in Inverloch-Kongwak, Phillip Island and Tooradin-Dalmore.
They were competitive but just not quite good enough against the Sea Eagles, should have beaten the Bulldogs before a late comeback forced them to settle for a draw, and were absolutely obliterated last week playing the Seagulls.
Their two wins were both big ones against lower opposition, leaving it a little tough to place them among the upper sides in the league.
It makes this game an interesting watch for the rest of the competition.
No matter who wins and who loses, we will certainly know more about both of these teams by Saturday's end.
Other games
Dalyston put their improvement to the test when Inverloch-Kongwak comes to town.
The Magpies are four and one and clearly a vastly different prospect to the last few years.
But Inverloch-Kongwak are undefeated at the top of the ladder and the current frontrunner for the flag.
The Magpies will likely need to find another level if they are to win against the best.
Finally, Korumburra Bena takes on Tooradin-Dalmore at home.
The Giants missed a big chance to grab a win against Garfield last week, and things suddenly become much more difficult as they prepare to face the reigning premiers.
Tooradin-Dalmore have, for the most part, been the same indomitable side that charged to the flag last year.
They may have stumbled against Phillip Island, but it's difficult to see them lowering their colours to the Giants here.
