Team of the year honours

The Gippsland League named their football Team of the Year at their presentation night last Monday.
Warragul and Drouin were both represented in the side with two Gulls earning selection and one Hawk.
For Warragul, intercepting backman Sean Masterson won a call-up at full back having finished second in the league for contested marks.
Tough as nails on-baller Tom Hobbs was named among the followers for his year, where he finished in the top 10 for both clearances and contested possessions while also booting 23 goals from 17 games.
Drouin midfielder/forward Kye Quirk was named on the wing after another stellar season in which he finished second in the league in disposals and fourth for contested possessions.
Maroons leader Tye Hourigan was named captain while Leongatha's Trent McMicking was named coach, bringing the total number of Parrots in the team to five - the most of any club.

Half back: Myles Poholke (Moe), Tye Hourigan C (Traralgon), Cooper Harvey (Bairnsdale).
Centre: Kye Quirk (Drouin), Will Mitchell (Bairnsdale), Ben Harding (Leongatha).
Half forward: Boyd Bailey (Morwell), Dylan Loprese (Traralgon), Aaron Heppell (Leongatha).
Full forward: Patrick Ireland (Leongatha), Ben Crocker (Moe), Jackson McMahon (Traralgon).
Followers: Jack Leslie (Sale), Tom Hobbs (Warragul), Ryan Sparkes (Wonthaggi),
Interchange: Luke Bowman (Leongatha), Anthony Rosato (Morwell), Luis D'Angelo (Traralgon), Alex Carr (Maffra), Joshua Bates (Wonthaggi), Nathan Scagliarini (Moe).
Coach: Trent McMicking (Leongatha).
In the Rookie of the Year award, Maffra's Noah Christy and Leongatha's Patrick Ireland took home top honours ahead of fellow nominees Jai Williams (Wonthaggi), Lucas Carter (Warragul), Max Williames (Drouin) and Thomas Wrigglesworth (Sale).
Traralgon took out the Most Disciplined Club and Club Championship awards.
The league also presented their Volunteer of the Year awards. The recipients were Paul Bills (Bairnsdale), Bec Virtue (Drouin), Trevor Walder (Leongatha), Paul Bourke (Maffra), Craig Boyle (Moe), Peter Mooney (Morwell), Hayden Nichol (Sale), Russell Sartori (Traralgon), Sharon Caia (Warragul) and Zoe Blundell (Wonthaggi).
