Swimmers represent Gippsland
1 min read

The Warragul Swimming Club had nine junior swimmers chosen to represent Gippsland at the 2022 Country Junior District Competition in Melbourne recently.
After gaining entry thanks to the strength of their qualifying times, Lilah Stevens, Pippa Biorci, Logan Gibson, Lachlan Hynd, Indi Joiner, Lara Jones, Troy Oswald and Hugo Pankhurst all had the chance to travel to Melbourne Sports and Aquatics Centre to compete alongside other Gippsland representatives. For some swimmers, it was the first time they had been given the opportunity to swim at the centre.
Facing some tough competition in the water, each competitor did a great job showing their talents as they made an excellent impression for both Warragul and Gippsland as a whole.
Some solid results included Lilah and Pippa finishing third in the 200m in the girls eight to nine 200m medley relay and Logan scoring a second place finish in the boys nine-year-old 50m breaststroke.
Pippa also finished third in the girls eight-year-old 50m backstroke.
Everyone had a great day in the pool, with the event sure to inspire the competitors to strive for even bigger events in the future.
