Reb nets gold medal
1 min read

Local netball star Reb Kensley has returned home a champion after featuring in the gold medal winning Victorian under 12 boys netball team at the State School Australia Games 03 in Ballarat.
The Victorian team went undefeated throughout the seven-day competition, competing against teams from all across Australia.
Reb, who is in grade six at St Ita's Primary School in Drouin, was one of 12 Victorians selected for the team coached by former Australian representative Greg Heinrich.
Heinrich, who had a mantra of playing "sexy netball," had his charges yelling a war cry before each game.
The State School Games saw more than 1000 athletes from all over Australia head to Ballarat for a variety of sports.
Despite netball being a traditionally female dominated game, Reb is one of a growing number of young boys and men taking up the sport nationally.
He loves playing netball and described the games as the "best week of my life."
