Warragul remain a force to be reckoned with in A grade netball as they look to go one better in 2025.
The Gulls were brought undone in last year's grand final in a thrilling contest by a highly talented Moe side, meaning they've come into this season with one goal in mind - lifting that cup in September.
Things have gone fairly smoothly to date with the club currently one of the main forerunners for that flag, thanks in large part to their highly talented squad.
Having stars like VNL player Sienna Green has kept the goals flowing thick and fast, but of course their main weapon has come in the form of superstar shooter Emma Ryde.
Ryde, who took out the Gippsland League scoring last year, has continued to be a dominant force below the ring, averaging more than 60 goals per game and with a high score of 91. Warragul has enjoyed some big wins, having conquered plenty of clubs by 30 goals or more - and even one by a whopping 74.
Their one blemish came against, you guessed it, Moe. A six-goal game just didn't quite go the Gulls way after a slow start left them 10 adrift at half time and chasing throughout the second half.
Despite that, they remain firm favourites to repeat their grand final efforts as we turn into the second half of the season.
The Gulls also have enjoyed some solid improvement from their junior ranks as they look to shore up their future.
After going winless in 2024 their 17 and under side already has multiple victories to their name.
Even more impressively, the Gulls' 15 and under netballers, who also went without a win last year, are lodged inside the top five.
