Jason Wells' bag of 20 goals last weekend had plenty of pundits talking and had historians diving into their records to set the record straight.
While it was initially believed to be the first bag of 20 in the league's history, the milestone actually belongs to one John James, who booted 24 goals for Nilma Lillico in 1957.
In what was a fair effort, James kicked all but five of his team's goals as they went on to defeat Warragul Industrials 29.11 (185) to 0.2 (2).
The bag was enough to see James claim the league goalkicking award that year with 64 goals.
Should Wells kick a single goal this upcoming weekend against Catani at home, he will break through the 100-goal barrier.
