West Gippsland Adult Riding Club hosted its annual club competition earlier this month at Baw Baw Equestrian Centre, Lardner.
Riders belonging to Horse Riders Clubs Association of Victoria (HRCAV) were eligible to compete.
Riders were graded by ability and entered dressage and jumping events respective to their level of riding skill.
The two-day competition attracted 111 entries.
Day one saw 68 competitiors put through the dressage discipline. Riders participated in two tests to determine the champion for each level. Each test was a pre-determined pattern judged by an accredited judge.
On the second day, there were 43 entries in the combined training day which saw riders undertake both a dressage test and one round of showjumping. The winner was the rider with the most points over the two displines of competition.
Participating riders attended from East Gippsland, South Gippsland, yarra Ranges and Mornington Peninsula.
The event was well supported by local sponsors.
