Tigers win a thriller

Lang Lang kept its finals hopes alive with a thrilling two-goal win over Catani on Saturday.
Despite a frantic last seven minutes which saw the Blues cut the margin from seven goals to one with a minute left, the Tigers prevailed by two goals.
Both teams kept the other guessing with positional changes but it was Lang Lang who led at each change - just. The margin was two goals at quarter time, three at half-time and five at the last.
It wasn't until the final quarter that Longwarry, fourth on the ladder, was able to shake off a determined Yarragon, 52-44.
The Panthers stepped it up against the Crows; level at quarter time, down by one at half-time and leading by two at the final change. However, with coach Akayla Peterson back from injury to steady the Crows through defence and the midcourt, the Panthers were limited to just five goals in the last. The Crows shot 15 goals to get the four points.
Neerim South continued its season dominance with a steady win over third ranked Ellinbank, 50-34. A run of eight consecutive goals from the Cats in the middle of the game proved hard for the Eagles to overcome.
Trafalgar elevated itself from fifth to fourth courtesy of a big win over Buln Buln, 64-33. This saw Longwarry drop to fifth despite winning.
After the weekend, only percentage separates Ellinbank, Trafalgar and Longwarry on the ladder as they battle for the all important third rank and double finals chance.
This weekend's clash between the Eagles and Bloods is an absolute must-win for both sides.
Lang Lang sit one game - but considerable percentage - behind in sixth place. They will take on Catani in what should be a fantastic contest.
Poowong, a further two games behind, are highly unlikely to feature in finals. It didn't stop them registering a season-high 70 goals against Nyora's 47 on the weekend.
Nilma Darnum continue to chalk up the wins, defeating Bunyip 57-39. With goaler Skye Rees missing and Mel Cook also out, youngster Brylie Earwicker got her chance to step into the Bombers' goaling circle.
Despite the loss, Bunyip would have walked away in reasonable spirits. When the teams last met in round four, the margin was 38 goals. This time it was 18 goals.
Next week's games: Buln Buln v Nilma Darnum, Ellinbank v Trafalgar, Bunyip v Neerim South, Longwarry v Catani, Lang Lang v Poowong and Nyora v Yarragon.
