Neerim-Neerim South forward Mason McGarrity had a day to remember on Saturday as he booted 18 goals.
Neerim-Neerim South recruit Mason McGarrity etched his own piece of history at his new club on Saturday as he booted a whopping 18 goals during the Cats' senior match against Yarragon.
McGarrity's haul is the most ever kicked by a Cats player in a single game and is up there with some of the best efforts in league history, with no player on record having kicked 20 goals or more.
His effort helped the Cats to a massive 28.15 (183) to 5.3 (33) win against Yarragon.
Former Ellinbank and District Football Netball League president Roger Gwynne, who held the role for 30 years, said he couldn't recall anyone kicking 18 goals in his time.
McGarrity, who has been a leading goalkicker for Warragul Industrials in recent years, is now second in the EDFNL goalkicking on 35 goals total.
The only thing missing was Anthony Hudson on call to yell the number 18 à la his Buddy Franklin commentary back in 2012.
