Gulls secure 40-goal win

Warragul had one win but many exciting games against Traralgon in round five on Saturday.
A grade: Warragul 75 defeated Traralgon 35
A commanding start by the Gulls set themselves up for a great game.
Great defensive pressure provided plenty of ball for the attack end, who were able to connect well with the goalers.
The Warragul girls managed to keep their foot down on the pedal and score 20 goals in each of the first three quarters. A lapse in the fourth quarter saw a closer contest with Traralgon, but the girls pulled away for a 40-goal win.

B grade: Warragul 36 lost to Traralgon 56
The Gulls trailed early in this game as Traralgon pushed out a strong half-time lead.
There were some good patches throughout the game, but an inconsistent performance was ultimately what led to the end result.
While the loss was disappointing, the team remain optimistic about the season ahead and know that they've got what it takes to be up with the top teams. The connections are building and the belief is there.

C grade: Warragul 25 lost to Traralgon 41
Traralgon came away with the win in a hard-fought battle against Warragul.
Despite the scoreboard, the Gulls showed plenty of fight and determination throughout the match, pushing Traralgon right to the final whistle.
Warragul's defensive pressure was strong as they worked as a team to create turnovers and opportunities. The midcourt showed great hustle and the shooters capitalised when given the chance.
Although the scoreboard didn't reflect their efforts, it was a spirited performance with plenty to build on.

17 and under: Warragul 21 lost to Traralgon 62
The Gulls faced a tough game against a strong competition.
The defensive end maintained the pressure whilst the attacking end worked hard, assisted by some good feeding into the ring by the midcourt.
The match provided valuable development points to bring into games going forward.

15 and under: Warragul 34 lost to Traralgon 54
In stunning sunshine, the stage was set for an exciting game of netball.
Both teams came out playing steady, strong, smart netball and went goal-for-goal until Traralgon was able to make use of some turnovers late into the quarter.
Going into the second half, Warragul was seven goals down. However, Traralgon came out firing, with their goalers capitalising on every opportunity to extend their lead.
Warragul continued to work hard and are proud of the way everyone played, held their heads high and never gave up.

13 and under: Warragul 4 lost to Traralgon 46
The entire Gulls team fought hard until the final whistle. Their resilience, teamwork and dedication continue to shine through every game.
Ida Blackwood was named best on court after a brilliant performance in wing defence; her skill, determination and kindness truly stood out.
A special mention to Isla O'Brien for scoring three goals, Tilly Hodge for a strong game in both the midcourt and goals, and Addison Burton for her incredible efforts in goal keeper.
