Drouin's thirds had plenty of reason to smile on Saturday after claiming their third win of the year against Morwell.
A simply dominant first quarter saw the Hawks slam home seven unanswered majors, paving the way for a sizeable win, 14.8 (92) to 7.2 (44).
It's the Hawks' first taste of victory since round three back in April, having had many of their eligible players unavailable due to senior duty.
That's not for a lack of trying – Drouin has been up to their eyeballs in several games this year, many of them seeing them drop off late to succumb to their opposition.
Rylie Baker took charge on the scoreboard, booting four goals to lead all comers for the day.
Jacob Obernhumer, Darcy Britt, Charlie Stone, Caleb Kleeven and William Virtue contributed plenty alongside Baker to lift their side to a great win.
Warragul's thirds took care of business as expected with a comfortable 50-point win over Wonthaggi.
The Gulls looked the cleaner side throughout the 10.16 (76) to 4.2 (26) triumph, outpointing their opposition early and never looking back.
Some wayward kicking kept things closer than they might have been otherwise, but the Gulls rarely looked to be in much trouble.
The win, coupled with other results around the league, sees them shoot up to second on the table as they hunt for back to back premierships.
Cameron Thompson, Xavier Olsson, Tom Logan, Diesel Bonaddio, Joseph Simpson and Dane Hammond all contributed nicely for the home side.
In other thirds results Moe defeated Bairnsdale 11.11 (77) to 5.11 (41), Leongatha pipped Traralgon 4.7 (31) to 4.4 (28) and Maffra thrashed Sale 15.11 (101) to 1.5 (11).
Warragul's fourths cruised to a relatively simple 74-point win in their clash with Wonthaggi.
It was a defensive masterclass early from the home side, keeping Wonthaggi to no first half goals as they skipped away to prevail 15.8 (98) to 3.6 (24).
Fraser Aubrey's excellent season in front of the sticks kept marching on as he found five majors for the day, while Dean Brown, Cooper Leighton, Harvie Dennis, Jake Boote, John Strating and Aden Tobin were all excellent.
Warragul remain in fourth position, though are now two wins clear of Bairnsdale in fifth.
Drouin's fourths were left to regret a wasted opportunity for their first win after being downed by fellow battler Morwell.
The Hawks were more than competitive, even looking the better side for periods, but just couldn't go with the Tigers when it counted most.
The 6.7 (43) to 9.5 (59) defeat leaves limited opportunities left for the Hawks to realistically get on the board, but they'll certainly be giving it a crack.
The Hawks' better performers were Cody Mackay, Hayden Gaunt, Lachlan Ainsworth, Jacob Dunn, Archer Poole and Levi Kalan.
Elsewhere in the fourths Moe beat Bairnsdale 12.7 (79) to 7.4 (46), Traralgon thumped Leongatha 15.12 (102) to 1.5 (11) and Maffra held Sale scoreless 14.14 (98) to 0.0 (0).
Warragul's reserves were able to give Wonthaggi one hell of a fright on Saturday in a narrow six-point defeat.
It was a close battle throughout with both sides having periods of superiority, until two goals to one in the last handed the Power a 8.4 (52) to 6.10 (46) win.
Missed chances at goal also came back to haunt the Gulls, who now look a much more competitive unit thanks to some senior regulars having to go back and earn their place back in the ones.
Running the team in fifth all the way to the line certainly won't hurt the confidence levels.
Playing well for Warragul were Patrick Carpenter, Jake Hughes, Tom Hillard, Vincent Kuol, Scott Kelly and Daniel Ridgway.
Drouin's reserves fought the good fight in a loss to Morwell.
The Hawks were no match for the Tigers but at least went down swinging, the final score 4.8 (32) to 14.11 (95).
It's their highest score of the season to date, giving them at least some reason to feel they're on the improve.
Jackson Bennett, Caleb Kleeven, Sam Rippon, Noah Lafrantz, Flynn Bethune and Rylie Baker were their more admirable performers.
In other reserves results Moe overcame Bairnsdale 8.9 (57) to 1.4 (10), Traralgon handed Leongatha a rare loss 8.11 (59) to 2.5 (17) and Maffra annihilated Sale 23.13 (151) to 1.1 (7).
